I can see why you'd reach out for assistance with this I'd like to help. I also see that you've tried multiple displays and adapter cables, as well as reset the SMC and PRAM on your Mac. I understand you're having trouble with the Thunderbolt port on your Mac recognizing when you've connected to it. Thanks for reaching out in Apple Support Communities. System profiler says this, whether or not something is connected:ĭomain UUID: 0B5CB89E-95BF-EB59-8285-0C31B0D75EC9 But I really need an external display to work. My two reasons for not visiting a service center- 1) I am not in a country where there is an Apple service center nearby 2) Something tells me they will simply suggest a logic board replacement and that is not something I will be doing since it is not worth spending that much on an old machine. What other options do I have other than a visit to an Apple service center? Anything else that can be tried? Tried it with multiple displays and multiple connector cables. No new updates are available from the app store. When I connect the Apple Mini DisplayPort to VGA cable, the display doesn't detect a source. The Thunderbolt port doesn't seem to be working anymore.
